Light Study

A recent news article, more of a scientific study, came to light highlighting the importance of exposure to natural light at work  and the impact it has on the human body.  Read below…

“Employees who are exposed to natural light at their workplace are associated with longer sleep duration, enhanced sleep quality, more physical activity and better quality of life as compared to those exposed to less light, according to a new study from the Northwestern Medicine and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign”

It goes on to say…

“There is increasing evidence that exposure to light, during the day, particularly in the morning, is beneficial to your health via its effects on mood, alertness and metabolism,” said senior study author Phyllis Zee, a Northwestern Medicine neurologist.light study

 

At Swanmac we deal greatly with sunlight control and understand the pros and cons fully.  Too much sunlight, especially in the wrong places, can be a pain, a stem to production and of course a health hazard.  What is needed is a balanced method to effectively control the sunlight allowing maximum gain of natural light but with minimum interference.
