Traveling to a hospital far from home can be a stressful experience for a child. Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity that provides a safe environment where families can share their experiences with others in similar situations.
The charity is now in the process of building its first Ronald McDonald House in Wales. It will accommodate families who have children being treated at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital and the neo-natal intensive care unit at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
The House will have 30 en-suite bedrooms as well as kitchens, lounges, playroom areas, and laundry facilities. Working alongside Willmott Dixon on this project, Swanmac fitted roller blinds in the office areas, prestigious curtains and tracks in all the bedrooms, and installed shower tracks and custom made manifestations for the glazed screens in the bathrooms.
The project is expected to cost over £5.5 million to construct and it is hoped to be completed in Autumn of 2017. We wish them the very best of luck in the completion of this construction that will make such a difference to so many families.
