Swanmac install blinds at the new £16m Ice Arena Wales

The Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff Bay is of world-class status – and it’s easy to see why.  This £16 million development offers a new 6,000 sq metre twin-pad ice arena, is the new home of the Cardiff Devils and could go on to host Olympic and European events.

However, the Cardiff Ice Arena is also very much a facility for the local community, schools and both amateur and professional sports teams.  The aim is to develop the ice sports programme that currently exists within the region to include curling and figure skating, as well as junior and senior hockey.

Working with Keir Construction, Swanmac have supplied and installed window blinds for the viewing galleries to help maintain temperature and solar glare, wall sheeting for the ice rink and changing rooms, signage and window manifestations.

In addition to providing fantastic new facilities for the local domestic and sporting community, it is expected that the new ice arena will bring tens of thousands of visitors to the Welsh capital – and we are proud to have played our part in this!
