Blackout blinds enabling virtual gym at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre

The Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-Super-Mare has recently undergone a £2.15 million extension.

Opening on the 18th September, the new two-storey extension took six months to complete and now houses a gym complete with 155 stations and 2 new multi-use studios. Studio classes will be led by instructors and will also host virtual classes – which will be shown on big screens. A cycle workout studio and dance studio have also been included into the remodelled facility.

Externally – there is a new 4G sports pitch and tennis courts will also host virtual classes led by world-famous instructors!

Working with contractor John Perkins Construction, Swanmac have supplied and fitted Kuro™ chain operated blackout blinds throughout.  These ‘dim-out’ blinds comprise of a roller blind system within an aluminium cassette and side channels to stop any light leakage around the perimeter of the blind. Perfect for the effectiveness of virtual gym instructions!

We are delighted to have worked with  the team at John Perkins on this project – take a look inside the leisure centre’s new facilities here.
