In the Autumn of 2018, new student accommodation will be completed as a part of Bath University’s vision to be recognised as an international centre of research and teaching excellence. How? By seamlessly integrating student life and study to provide a first-class higher education experience. Integration will be achieved by enabling student flow to move between student residences, academic buildings and a landscaped courtyard; thus creating a ‘joined-up’ experience.
Developed by Stride Treglown, the study bedrooms will be larger than standard accommodation by some 3m2, with lots of storage space to ensure a comfortable living and studying space. Windows will be large to allow as much natural light as possible, all framed with 100% blackout blinds installed by Swanmac to provide that the perfect balance between night and day is achieved!
Bedrooms will be clustered into groups of eight, and in total, Polden Corner will provide accommodation for 293 students. The flats are to each have their own kitchen diner and share flexible social space with easy access to the buildings’ gym, communal study spaces and cycle stores.
Swanmac are delighted to be a part of this installation – a total of 600 100% blackout blinds, and we look forward to its completion in Autumn 2018.
