A new Llantwit Major Learning Community has combined two primary and one comprehensive school in the area. The facility will provide a new 2-form entry primary school for 420, external play and learning areas, and an extension to the existing 4-storey secondary school which will also be completely refurbished.
Construction, by Bouygues UK, commenced in December 2015 and was quickly ahead of schedule. All works were delivered whilst pupils were in residence, with care taken to ensure that minimal disruption was felt by pupils and staff.
Working directly with the Learning Community, Swanmac recently installed 100 heavy-duty crank operated roller blinds to all classroom windows. In addition to reducing glare and maintaining heat these blinds provide safety benefits. The crank system is easy to use, has pin point accuracy and above all, removes any risk of pupil ligature.
This is another installation of blinds within the education sector that we are delighted to have delivered.
