Roller and motorised blinds for Gabalfa School

The new Gabalfa School in the heart of Cardiff is a part of the Welsh Government’s 21st Century School’s project.

The school comprises of not one, but two schools. One, Ysgol Glan Ceubal, will be for Welsh speaking students, and the other, Gabalfa Primary School, for English. The schools are both on the same site, but will remain completely separate, however some facilities will be shared including the kitchen, changing rooms and plan room. The schools will also share a courtyard as the building is V shaped, however each will have their own playground, grass pitch and hard-surface play court.

But this development isn’t just for pupils! The schools will be community focussed. This means that the buildings can be used for community purposes when school is out at evenings, weekends and holidays.

The development of this unique school is through Dawnus Construction and Swanmac are installing 200 roller blinds to all classroom windows and radio operated roller blinds to high level windows in the main hall. The installation will be complete in August, ready for the new intake in September 2018.
