From having its planning consent granted in 2017, the brand-new Royal Nation Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) and Therapies Centre in Bath is nearing completion and is due to open in the late Spring of this year.
The aim of the centre is to be the ‘bridge’ connecting and signposting patients to support and resources in the community that will enable them to manage their lives on a daily basis. In a nurturing environment, the Centre will provide the very latest facilities for rheumatology, therapies and pain management.
Patients will benefit from a gymnasium, hydrotherapy pool, an assessment and teaching kitchen, assessment bedroom and bathroom, a Skype clinic room alongside a clinic and treatment rooms. The design of the centre also aims to provide a welcoming space at the front of the hospital. With this in mind, the existing main entrance will be connected to two new buildings to ensure that the hospital remains in context with its surroundings of the World Heritage City of Bath.
