450 chain operated blinds for £17m student accommodation

With a budget of £17million, and construction commencing in March 2018, Swanmac is delighted to be instructed to install 450 chain operated roller blinds at Coppergate Swansea, a brand new 310-bed student accommodation facility next month.

In just 18 months Create Construction has delivered this project on time, and on budget so that it will be ready to receive a September intake – a phenomenal achievement!

The development will offer residents a choice across 14-storeys of 24 self-contained studios and 286 cluster flats with en-suite bedrooms.  The accommodation will also offer a private landscaped central courtyard in a horseshoe formation, and communal areas which encourage both a highly sociable lifestyle and collaborative learning and working.

Chain operated roller blinds are a perfect shading solution for student accommodation of this type. Both space saving and stylish they allow students to optimise the light they allow into their rooms and communal areas, therefore optimising their leisure and working environments.

At 14-storeys, this will be the tallest building in Swansea and offers students fantastic views across the beautiful city.  We wish the 2019/20 student intake the very best in their fabulous new surroundings!
