The Matthew Arnold School is a co-ed secondary school in Middlesex that is currently undergoing a massive re-development to the value of £17.8m.
This re-development is much needed; in recent years the school has been oversubscribed by 10% and with a nearby housing development given the green light, the pressure on intake is expected to increase in the coming years.
Construction comprises a new school building, the relocation of floodlit sports pitches followed by the demolition of the existing school buildings. The new building is replacing the school’s current facilities almost in their entirety, including administration offices, main hall, kitchen and dining rooms, teaching areas for arts and sciences and the library. Indeed the only areas that aren’t affected are the gym and drama department. When the entire works are complete, the existing building will be demolished and the area around it landscaped.
As instructed by Wates Group, #TeamSwanmac will be onsite during the Autumn of 2020 to install 150 chain-operated roller blinds, electric roof light blinds plus fully enclosed blackout blinds. We’re looking forward to being onsite!
