At an investment of £24 million, Dogpool Lane will provide a mix of cluster beds and single-occupancy studio bedrooms for 167 students in the brownfield Stirchley area of Birmingham.
The development of this student accommodation will take the pressure off the residential rental market by providing many sought-after residences for the growing student population in the area. It will also provide a better space for the existing post office and newsagent currently based on the site.
Developers Alumno have also committed to adding value to the local community through improved public spaces at the front of the building, including landscaping, seating, and cycle stands.
Swanmac has been instructed to supply and install around 250 chain-operated blackout roller blinds. These blinds provide blackout at any hour of the day for residents and the fabric also benefits from fire retardant properties, ensuring the safety of those within the building.
