Oldway House in Swansea was a 13-storey office block centrally located near the city’s railway station. It has undergone major re-development with the inclusion of a further 2-storeys and has been transformed into high-quality student accommodation.
The result is 12 studios and cluster flat bedrooms that have resulted in 556 en-suite student bedrooms along with management offices, common rooms, a ground floor retail unit and a launderette.
The development was designed with the student lifestyle in mind. The accommodation offers a perfect balance of privacy to study, but the central location of the site means that the opportunity to socialise in a growing and increasingly vibrant city, is close at hand!
Each of the bedrooms is fully furnished with communal areas offering plenty of storage. Natural light has been a priority and was an essential part of the brief. However, following instruction by contractor WRW Construction, the Swanmac team will be on-site in August 2019 to install 850 blackout roller blinds – ensuring that resident students are able to sleep when necessary!
These blinds are robust, stylish and space-saving. The perfect shading solution for students that want to achieve the perfect student work/life balance!
