In 2017 Willmott Dixon won a £26 million contract to develop a 7,400 m2 Innovation and Enterprise Campus in Aberystwyth. The steel frame for the campus seed biobank has recently been completed – but there is a long way to go!
Swanmac will be on site to install roller blinds throughout all teaching areas, and blackout roller blinds to all meeting rooms at the end of 2019, with construction due to end in 2020.
We are delighted to have been appointed for this installation. The campus is the largest of its kind in mid-Wales and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It will feature a series of inter-connected buildings developed using a range of material including brick, timber plus living walls and roof.
The campus will offer a range of first-class facilities that support innovation in the food and drink, bio-processing and bio-technology sectors, with the ultimate objective of enabling commercial enterprise to grow, prosper and drive economic growth in these sectors. The site will also provide formal and informal meeting spaces and office/laboratory accommodations for companies with an innovation programme.
We can’t wait to get started!
