Bridgwater College expansion

Bridgwater College expansion
Location: Bridgwater
Sector: Education
Specifier: BAM Construction
Products used: Crank-operated blackout roller blinds, vertical blinds and window manifestations

In preparation for achieving University status, Bridgwater College has undergone a series of expansion in recent years.

As a part of this drive to achieve the much sought after University status, the Cannington campus has recently undergone significant development including the development of a new accommodation block and the renovation of administrative areas plus, the conversion of a hall into new classroom space.

Alongside BAM Construction, the Swanmac team is looking forward to installing crank-operated blackout roller blinds to the new classrooms. The smooth operation of the crank mechanism means that the blinds are robust and are able to be adjusted without disturbance to students. We are also installing vertical blinds to offices and window manifestations to internal glazing. We’ll be on-site in December 2019.

This is an exciting time for the college. Academy Principal Mark Trusson has said:

”The new build for the Taunton Academy is a fantastic resource for our students and the community for generations to come. The specification for the build is very high and the quality of the learning spaces will compete with any school in the country. We are all very excited and look forward to the building completion in one year’s time.”

Our team is very excited about getting on-site and becoming a part of this important step-change in the history of the college!
