In 2018, work began on the development of a landmark Centre for Student Life at the Cathay’s campus of Cardiff University. It is now nearing completion, due for later this year.
The new centre forms a part of Cardiff University’s most significant campus upgrade for a generation. In partnership with the Student’s Union, the Centre will provide a new home for student support, a 550-set auditorium, plus social study places, quiet contemplation spaces and consultation rooms. The transformation will also include a 24-hour online service and extended opening hours to ensure that all students including those on other sites, distance-learning or studying abroad, can access services when they need them.
The centre has come into being through a desire for the university to transform its student support, including mental health and wellbeing and these improved facilities will support students to succeed throughout their student journey from being a course applicant through to Cardiff University Alumni.
#TeamSwanmac has been instructed by lead contractor BAM to install electric and manual roller blinds and we’ll be onsite during the Summer of 2021.
