This brand new £30m school, located on the fringes of the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, will create much needed secondary school education places for pupils aged between 11-16.
With a 6-form entry and 7,900m2 across two floors, the school aims to reflect the Balcarras Academy, one of Englands highest performing comprehensive schools – developing inspiration, aspiration and a passion for learning.
The design includes a 450-seat main hall, with raised seating to create a performance space. Teaching rooms will surround a courtyard and a four-court sports hall and viewing gallery are located alongside an indoor activity studio.
Swanmac’s installation team will be onsite during the Summer under instruction from Kier Construction to install 400 heavy-duty chain operated roller blinds to all external windows. These blinds are perfect for providing the required levels of shading, maintaining an ambient temperature and can withstand significant usage in demanding areas. We’ll also be installing radio operated blinds in the main hall providing easy manipulation of light and shade at the touch of a button for windows at height.
