Willmott Dixon in the Midlands had marked the topping out of its £19m project to create a 3-storey secondary school in Yardley Wood.
The Christ Church, Church of England, Secondary Academy will open in 2021 and provide an additional 1,150 school places in the Midlands. The school will offer modern classrooms and laboratories, a library, studio spaces for the creative and performing arts plus product design and catering classrooms. It will also incorporate a chapel, plus a sports hall and two full-sized football pitches.
The building is a contemporary design aimed at enhancing the area it serves whilst providing first-class facilities for pupils, 900 of secondary age and 250 in 6th form education.
Swanmac has been instructed to install chain operated roller blinds to all classroom windows plus radio operated blinds to high-level windows in the main hall. We look forward to being onsite with the team from Willmott Dixon soon!
