In August 2018, Swanmac was delighted to take instruction from Morgan Sindall to install a range of blinds at Cwmaman Primary School.

The school is a part of the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools programme and will provide a first-class educational environment for primary school children between the ages of 3 – 11 years of age.

The development includes a multi-use games area, staff car park and pupil drop-off areas plus grass sports pitches and outside pupil spaces. There is also a dedicated room for the use of local community groups.

The £7.2m development was match-funded through #RCTinvest and was completed ready for the new intake in September 2018. Swanmac installed crank-operated roller blinds to all classrooms and to high-level windows in the school hall. These blinds enable teachers and pupils to easily and silently adjust the shading levels to optimise their performance throughout the school day.

Councillor Joy Rosser, Rhondda Cynon Taff Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, said: “The new school in Cwmaman will transform the village’s education offer, and demonstrates our commitment to delivering investment in 21st Century Schools.”

We certainly hope it does, and the team here at Swanmac wish the teachers and pupils well!
