We are delighted to have been instructed by Laing O’Rourke to install a range of cubicle tracks, window curtain tracks and blinds throughout the brand new Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran.
Costing £350m, the hospital offers a 471-bed facility, the majority of which are single rooms with en-suite facilities to ensure that the patient experience is the best it can be. Proposals for the hospital were first raised in 2004, with construction fit-out taking three years in total.
The hospital will offer 24-hour emergency and assessment services in addition to diagnostic services including radiology, pathology, MRI and CT scanners plus and operating theatres. Additionally, a dedicated paediatric assessment unit will manage paediatric emergencies and neonatal intensive care. Serving a population of 600,000 The Grange is equipped with a helipad enabling medical teams to receive or issue emergency transfers.
The Swanmac team has completed its installation over a three-month period in readiness for the hospital launch in November when approved by Welsh Government.
We wish the 3,000 staff members and, of course, every service user the very best!
