HMRC Cardiff, Ty William Morgan Building

HMRC Cardiff | Swanmac Ltd | Sunscreen Roller Blinds
Location: Cardiff
Sector: Commercial
Specifier: Wates
Products used: Sunscreen roller blinds (1% fabric)

In 2020, HMRC Cardiff relocated to the Central Square development in the heart of the city. The largest of several high-profile tenants, HMRC delivered the hub on behalf of the UK Government.

The building sits at 12 storeys and was designed to provide a contemporary working environment for HMRC and other UK Government departments in Wales. The concept also created a future-proof technological infrastructure to safeguard operations.

Across over 250,000 sq ft, the offices are predominantly open plan with additional meeting room suites and some cellular style offices, all aiming to bring disparate teams together when they began to relocate to the site in November 2020.

Swanmac is now instructed to supply and install over 800 roller blinds with 1% sunscreen fabric that gives excellent glare control with up to 99% of rays filtered; this will reduce the glare for workers within the building and help to create and maintain a comfortable office environment.
