The Kings Leadership Academy in Bolton is an independent state school aiming to provide a world-class education to its pupils through its values and focus on leadership and academic development.
Pupils have studied in temporary classroom accommodation and will move into a new secondary school building which will provide 900 much-needed pupil places in the area.
The new school will provide state-of-the-art classrooms and science labs plus a library, sports hall and dining rooms. Externally, the pupils will enjoy an all-weather sports field.
The design of the school was inspired by existing industrial forms the familiar red brick found in Bolton.
Under instruction from Galliford Try, #TeamSwanmac will install a total of 148 blinds in the new school; the blinds will be a combination of chain-operated dim-out blinds and blackout blinds, plus radio-operated blackout blinds and rooflights.
Rooflights are increasingly popular in education and commercial settings thanks to increasing requirements for natural light. It is important, however, that this light can be managed to maintain the best working and learning environments and radio-operated blackout blinds provide the perfect solution.
