Located 9 miles from Cambridge and within the UK’s ‘golden triangle’ of elite university cities (London, Oxford and Cambridge), the Melbourn Science Park comprises a cluster of developers and manufacturers from the sci-tech industry.
The site covers seven acres and 100,000 sq ft of collaborative space and has been developed to provide a place where the skills and creativity of engineers, scientists and researchers can be brought together for The Technology Partnership (TTP) who own and occupy the site.
This is a premium development likened to the ‘Rolls Royce’ of workspaces. Its design and build have been per strict and challenging environmental credentials. This includes ensuring that no building material is taken offsite and any waste arising from the work has been re-used elsewhere in the build, or to landscape the surrounds. The building is designed to provide an agile workspace; movement around the building is easy and the quality of the working environment is designed to attract the very best, and most reputable talent. Helping to entice them in are wellbeing facilities including a restaurant, gym and conference facilities.
Our team has been working with contractor SDC to install electric blinds throughout. The blinds will be integrated into the Building Management System (BMS) for simplicity and control. Such integration ensures that the blinds are always accessible, even in difficult-to-access areas, and that the building temperatures can be easily managed.
