Following massive investment on its new campus, the Swansea University student intake is growing year on year. This has resulted in the need for additional student accommodation.
The Morfa Road Student Accommodation complex will offer space for up to 706 students. Based on the site of an old Unigate Dairy, the accommodation (a series of blocks) will also offer a ground floor café and a modern gym. Additionally, improvements to the local infrastructure including cycle and footpaths are in discussion.
Swanmac is delighted to have been instructed by contractor Watkin Jones, to install blackout roller blinds to 245 bedrooms.
The bedrooms will be located in one block in a building of 6-7 storeys and the development will include two rooftop terraces, with views over the river Tawe.
Blackout roller blinds are a popular choice for student accommodation as they allow the student to effectively choose between day and night when relaxing or working in their own space.
