Completed in 2014, the development of the new Morriston Comprehensive school in Swansea took innovation in design and construction to a new level, due to the constraints of the site.

The new school has been built around the existing school, creating some 10,500 sq m of exciting accommodation which includes a brand-new auditorium for school productions which will also be available for use by local theatre groups.  Complete with modern facilities and technical capabilities, the school is fully equipped to enable students to interact, learn and work together.

A number of the existing buildings that were retained have been refurbished and re-modelled to bring them up to standard and help this new school achieve the BREEAM excellent rating that will position the school as the flagship school for the City and County of Swansea.

As a part of this extensive project, we were asked to install 220 chain operated Solaris roller blinds with palette iron fabric.  A plain weaved grey fabric, palette iron is stylish, flame retardant, wipe clean and perfect for computer room environments and thus provides an appropriate level of dim out, it ensures that those using screens are able to work efficiently and most importantly safely.
