A part of the University of South Wales, The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) sits in the heart of Cardiff as a ‘Space for Everyone’. It provides specialist practical and performance-based training in both music and drama to its students.
The building provides a 450 seat chamber concert hall which is acoustically excellent, a 160 seat courtyard theatre plus studio teaching rooms, rehearsal rooms and a large foyer.
Its multi-award-winning design by Flanagan Lawrence was both from the inside out with acoustics the primary design focus; yet giving due consideration to its location within the Welsh capital next to Cardiff’s iconic City Hall and National Museum of Wales.
#TeamSwanmac will be onsite during the Autumn of 2021 to install replacement curtains to all music and drama rooms. Available in a range of staging fabrics, our theatrical curtains will assist the acoustic properties within their environment, including the ability to dampen sounds and also to provide total blackout for stages when needed.
