As a part of Pembrokeshire County Council’s aim to deliver four new education facilities for secondary education and 6th form, Stride Treglown designed delivered the third of these projects, a £22m welsh-medium school called Ysgol Caer Elen in Withybush.

Just shy of 10,000 metres², the 21st Century school was completed in November 2018 and is rated BREEAM excellent. Purpose-built the school was developed in order to accommodate a growing demand for Welsh-medium education within the West Wales county. The school has the capacity for 915 students and also 45 nursery places.

Swanmac were delighted to install a range of chain-operated roller blinds to all classrooms and fully enclosed blackout blinds to science labs. Both of these blinds types are robust enough to withstand a significant amount of use from teachers and pupils and thanks to the sunscreen and blackout fabrics used, will protect both staff and students from the sun’s harmful rays.
