Five years in the making, the £14m development of the Sir Geoffrey Arthur Building at Pembroke College, Oxford is complete. The site is riverfront and located on the site of former buildings which were demolished at the outset.
Two of the new buildings, Thames and Cherwell, will mean that Pembroke College will be able to house 60% of its graduate community throughout their courses and will have dedicated accommodation for academics for the first time.
The accommodation itself comprises 77 en-suite bedrooms including 4 which are accessible, 4 studio flats, 10 communal kitchens and living spaces plus a large common room, laundry room and creative spaces. Four of the en-suite bedrooms are accessible.
The new Isis building which will provide accommodation for early-career academics comprises 4 studio flats.
Our team attended site in January 2023 to install high-quality curtains and electric blinds to all windows. Electric blinds provide precision manipulation of the blinds at the touch of a button and can be hard-wired or operated via remote control and our curtains help to maintain temperature and provide a textural aesthetic to each room.
