South Wales Police has one of the largest estates within the blue light sector in the UK. However, a review of its estate identified opportunities for improvement which included the facilities where students were taught and assessed.
Located at South Wales Police’s HQ in Bridgend, this new learning centre will provide 22 training classrooms plus desks for a further 200 staff working in internal departments.
The facility will help to centralise the police force training courses and will contribute to raising standards and increase the number of student officers recruited. It will provide an assessments and standards unit, an operations training unit plus investigative training and ‘policing through technology’ facilities.
A gym and 340 parking spaces plus 115 cycle parking spaces are also a part of the development.
Our team will be onsite during December to install over 300 heavy-duty crank-operated blackout blinds to all external windows. These blinds will provide the necessary blackout and privacy required in such a facility. We’ll also be installing high-level electric roller blinds for the main atrium area.
