An army rebasing programme has led to an influx of army-based families in Salisbury, Wiltshire. As a result, Avon Valley College in Durrington is to undergo huge renovations with the addition of 18 classrooms to its school.
The additional space will cater for at least 270 new pupils over 3-storeys. The new classrooms will be those for the performing arts, ICT and art. There are also plans for new sports facilities plus outdoor space and car parking.
Working with lead contractor Halsall Construction we’ll be onsite during January 2020. Our team will install blackout curtains in the drama room and elsewhere, heavy-duty crank operated roller blinds. These blinds are easy to operate thanks to the smooth crank mechanism and they’re designed with special metalised fabric which is highly durable and will help to reduce heat within the room.
We look forward to posting a project update and images as the development of this large renovation continue.
