Techniquest Cardiff is one of the UK’s longest established Science Centres. Established in 1986, it has relocated several times, until it reached its permanent home in 1995.
With a mission to ‘embed science in Welsh culture through active engagement’ the centre has recently undergone a massive transformation, with the addition of 1,000 sq m of exhibition and visitor space. This transformation aims to increase visitors and attract a wider audience through innovative, contemporary science.
Called the science capital, the works are a project specifically designed to house innovative, interactive exhibitions and have been developed with businesses and academics to help ensure that STEM technologies shape the future of Wales.
Created by HLM Architects, rather than an extension the origami-inspired design is more a single but reinterpreted building that has given Cardiff Bay a new landmark.
Our team has already been on-site and under instruction by G Oakley & Sons, installed window manifestations. We have also installed protection screens under direct instruction from the Techniquest team themselves.
