The Moorings Social Club in Greenwich has recently re-opened after substantial redevelopment. It had been closed since 2005, but re-opened its doors in March 2022 and now offers a large performance space, a training room, shared workspace, local business displays, a small museum plus café and IT suite.
Its purpose is to provide a warm and welcoming environment in which the community can socialise, and access services that help them to resolve issues that include housing, employment, training, immigration and financial management.
The renovation itself combined its 1970s design with new fixtures and fittings. The original layout has remained but has new paintwork to reflect its original design. The roof terraces have been refurbished, and all windows have been replaced.
