Receiving its first intake just before the Covid pandemic, the £25m Deanery Academy serves the 25,000 homes that form the new Wichelstowe development in Swindon.
A state-of-the-art school, the Deanery has a capacity for 1,479 students and has been designed to be a distinctive feature in the local area. It offers first-class facilities and of particular note are the specialist multi-games area and all-weather pitch and four court sports hall with 160-seat viewing gallery. The school is also particularly proud of its 440-seat theatre and drama studio.
The school aims to be ‘an exceptional school that … focuses on helping students live life in all its fullness’. In addition to teaching areas, students will also benefit from common areas, a café, quiet rooms and provisions for Special Educational Needs students.
Our team was onsite during the Summer of 2019 to install fully enclosed blackout blinds to all laboratories and also heavy-duty roller blinds to all classrooms. We’re delighted to say that, as always, the installation was completed on time, and on budget.
