By 2020, the Warwick University aims to have the most physically active campus community in the UK. To achieve this, a brand new Sports and Wellness Hub is currently under construction.
In development through contractor Willmott Dixon, the Hub will offer world-class sporting experience. Using a ‘hub and spokes’ model, the new facility will provide the main centre for sporting activity on Warwick campus, with existing (but enhanced) facilities connected to it as spokes.
The Hub is a significant investment at £49 million and will offer a sports hall, swimming pool, fitness suites, climbing and bouldering walls along with squash courts, studio spaces, outdoor 3G pitches and netball courts plus a café.
The Hub is due for completion in January 2019 and Swanmac have been instructed to install over 50 manual and electrically operated roller blinds throughout the facility where required.
Electrically operated blinds allow for light adjustment to difficult to reach windows which will ensure that the students and members of the public using this incredible sporting facility have the best possible sporting experience!
