The Welsh Government committed that by 2010, offices would be established pan-Wales. It was believed that a presence across the principality, with offices in Merthyr Tydfil, Aberystwyth and Llandudno Junction would benefit the businesses, and population it served.
The new 8,800 m2 offices in Llandudno Junction, the largest outside of Cardiff, were completed on time and accommodate up to 650 staff working in Education, Health, Children’s Services, Transport, and Business & Enterprise. The design has provided exciting and efficient places for staff across these departments to work and demonstrates best practice in office environment innovation.
Designed by architects Austin-Smith:Lord it is the ‘greenest’ building in the Welsh Government’s estate with a BREEAM Excellent rating and from its very inception, the building had huge emphasis on sustainability.
For our part, Swanmac were instructed to install over 500 Silent Gliss Roller Blinds throughout this landmark building. These roller blinds provide are stylish, space-saving and most importantly provide maximum levels of shading from the sun’s glare when required.
