Wycombe Abbey was recently named as one of the UK’s top 20 senior schools. The school is set in beautiful grounds and a Grade II listed building, however, in 2017, 2 new four-storey interconnected boarding houses, Pitt and Rubens, were added.
The £13m boarding houses provide communal recreation space for the girls, private gardens for house mistresses and shared gardens for other staff. The houses also offer a drawing-room, MONS room, rumpus room and kitchen along with study spaces and music practice rooms. Unusually, the dorms are mixed in age between 11-16 years old
Under instruction from SDC construction, our team was on-site in 2017 to install a range of blackout blinds and perfect-fit pleated blinds to all external windows. Our blackout blinds provide full blackout at any time of day (or night) whilst perfect-fit blinds offer superb management of light with no fixtures, fittings or hardware involved. They are superb for all windows, roof lights and where there is no room for a roller blind mechanism to be installed. Like all of our blinds, they are child-safe and assist in maintaining an ambient temperature.
