The new Ysgol Y Pant in Pontyclun is a £24m investment by the Welsh Government as part of the 21st Century Schools Project. The investment almost completely replaces the existing school and has expanded pupil intake to a potential of 1,600.
The original 1950s block has been completely demolished during which time the school made use of temporary accommodation onsite. The drama block, sports hall and outside play areas plus parking and main entrance have also all been redeveloped.
The school now offers 8.744m2 of state-of-the-art teaching facilities which is much needed in the growing Rhondda Cynon Taff locality. #TeamSwanmac have installed solar reflective window film throughout the school, protecting pupils and staff from the sun’s solar rays, privacy and window-strengthening properties.
